RED SCORPION HISTORY

In Red Scorpion you take on the role of a Star Commando soldier sent to the planet Bombyx by the Terran Confederacy to liberate the native population from the evil invaders called Necrons. The objective of the game is to kill all enemies while avoiding killing the Bombyx natives and preventing the Necrons from extracting Talanite, the planet's most valuable resource.

The mere fact that you're cruising Bombyx in a Scorpion Mv IV with embedded weapons, crammed to the bulwarks with acronymic annihilation gadgets, may seem a little unfriendly. But these Bombyxians are used to being unleashed, so Combat Action Viewer (CAV), Forward Viewing Weapon Targeting System (HUDWAS), Armor Piercing (AP) missiles and Cluster Bombs (CB), are really friendly, useful, can't-kill-anyone, low-lethality devices.

HOW TO PLAY RED SCORPION

You are not completely alone down there. Above the circle are two support ships: the Coral Sea, which you can repair if it all gets too much, and the Zuchov. The Zuchov can, on request, do its party trick of raining down staggering amounts of naval ordnance from above. However, it can only do so in its immediate area, which makes a potentially useful idea somewhat flawed in practice. Still, your shields can take quite a bit of punishment, so it could be useful if you're stuck for something more inventive.
