Knightmare is a video adventure game published by Activision in 1987 for the Commodore 64.
Based on a children's programme in England, 3 players had to guide a fourth through a medieval castle solving puzzles and riddles. It's time to start your quest through the dark halls of Damonia Castle, battling demons and overcoming tricky trials. Find the items that will allow you to free yourself from the demonic mansion and its inhabitants.
How to play Knightmare
We control a warrior in his attempt to escape from the castle. His life energy is represented by a candle that burns down as we take damage and as time passes. There are two oracles who will occasionally give us advice, one is good, but the other is evil and wants us to fail. Be careful because at first glance we cannot tell one from the other.
As we wander around the castle we will encounter various characters and puzzles that we will have to interact with. To do this we will have to use a series of predefined commands made up of two words. Combining the use of the MAYS and ENTER keys we will be able to speak, open doors, fight or invoke magic spells, among many other actions.
