Openly inspired by great classics such as DUNGEON MASTER and EYE OF THE BEHOLDER, THE SHADOWS OF SERGOTH (TSOS) takes on the challenge of finally offering a good dungeon crawler on CPC.

First of all, the realisation is of high quality even if one would have preferred the graphic to show its talent in an introduction rather than in screens for choosing the language or changing the side of the floppy disk.

The game is based on a simplification of the D20 AD&D system and, assuming the interface of the above-mentioned tenors, is relatively easy to handle. The storyline, without being very original, is pleasantly followed through to the final ending and the fight against a varied bestiary, references multiply without tiring. We control a single warrior rather than a team, but the lifespan is still very good and, like the board games it is inspired by, we are happy to restart a game even after completing the adventure. The amazing fluidity of the action adds to the pleasure of playing. In short, despite a few minor flaws, TSOS is a performance and all fans of this type of game will be delighted to find a title that lives up to their expectations on CPC.
